Blazin Squad

Blazin Squad are the east London hip-hop group who shot to number one with their debut single Crossroads in August 2002, becoming one of the most talked-about acts of the early noughties. Formed in Walthamstow, the ten-piece collective brought a raw, streetwise energy to the UK pop charts at a time when homegrown urban music was finding its mainstream voice, and their combination of rapping, singing and undeniable charisma set them apart from everything else in the charts. Six further top ten hits followed in quick succession, including Flip Reverse, which reached number two, We Just Be Dreamin, which reached number three, and Reminisce, which kept them firmly in the public eye through 2003. Two gold-certified albums, a devoted fanbase and a series of arena appearances on nostalgia tours have kept Blazin Squad firmly on the live circuit ever since. More than two decades on they remain one of the most recognisable and energetic acts from the 2000s pop era, with a live show that still generates an enormous reaction from audiences who grew up with their records.
